1. Acceptance of these terms
This website is operated by Roitor CPA Professional Corporation (“Roitor”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. The site is information, not advice
The content on this site is general information about our services. It is not accounting, tax, financial, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional engagement. Tax and accounting rules change, and how they apply depends on your specific facts. Do not act on anything you read here without speaking to a qualified professional about your own situation.
3. No client relationship until an engagement letter is signed
Contacting us through this site, booking a consultation, or exchanging emails does not create a client relationship. A professional relationship begins only when both parties sign a written engagement letter that sets out the scope of work, the deliverables, the fees, and the limitations of the engagement. Until then, please do not send us confidential or sensitive information.
4. Professional regulation
Roitor CPA Professional Corporation is regulated by CPA Ontario and operates under the profession’s Code of Professional Conduct. Services described on this site are offered only where we are permitted to offer them.
5. Accuracy and availability
We aim to keep the site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete, error-free, or up to date. Pricing, packages, and service descriptions may change without notice, and published pricing is indicative — final fees are confirmed in your engagement letter. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of the site at any time.
6. Intellectual property
All content on this site — text, graphics, logos, layout, and downloadable materials — is owned by Roitor or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and trade-mark law. You may view, download, and print pages for your own personal or internal business use. You may not republish, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any of it, or present it as your own, without our written permission.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use this site in any way that is unlawful, that could damage or impair the site, that attempts to gain unauthorised access to any system, or that interferes with anyone else’s use of it. Automated scraping, data harvesting, and bulk collection of information from the site are not permitted.
8. Forms, submissions, and communications
Information you submit through our forms is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Email and web forms are not fully secure channels — do not use them to send tax slips, bank statements, government correspondence, or other sensitive documents. Clients exchange documents through our secure client portal.
9. Third-party links and software
This site may link to third-party websites and reference third-party software. Those links and references are provided for convenience only. We do not control those sites or services, do not endorse everything on them, and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or affects the professional obligations we owe to clients under a signed engagement letter.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roitor and its directors, officers, and staff are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site — including lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss. Liability arising from professional services is governed by the engagement letter for those services, not by this page.
12. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The current version is always the one posted on this page, with the “last updated” date shown above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute relating to this site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
